In Spain, to be a professional mountain guide you have to be qualified as "Técnico Deportivo de Montaña y Escalada". In addittion, although it is not mandatory, most of the guides own membership to AEGM (https://www.aegm.org/) and some of them, to the Union of International Mountain Leaders Associations (UIMLA; https://uimla.org/)
All the three of us own those accreditations, obtained after several years of learning and tough exams.
